Bruce and Brown London Kids haven't/won't update their website.
If you are going to have a web site then you must keep it up to date. For many people it will be the primary means of getting information on you and your company. Why annoy them with out of date information? Annoying people who are you hope to give you money is not good business sense.
You can watch the video here. (16.9mb, 7 minutes 35 seconds)
You will need Quicktime to watch this video.
There is no point in having a web site unless you are going to keep it up to date.
Let me just state that again: There is no point in having a web site unless you are going to keep it up to date.
As I say in the video, people have commented how good looking my two sons are so I thought I would see if I could get some modelling work for them. No big shakes if they get rejected - I am not a pushy parent. I did a search for child model agencies in London and Bruce and Brown appeared to be very good. They didn't ask for any fees upfront, they only asked for snaps and they state quite clearly that they reject most applications - something that con artist agencies don't do. There are many con jobs going on in the modelling world and you can spot them because they ask for money up front, they insist on professional photos that they themselves have to take (at a great cost) and they take on any old Tom. Dick or Harriet.
So their web site was doing a really good job of selling of the company. So much so that I spent time looking through photos of our eldest son and whittled the pictures down to 5 and then cropped and resized them until they were all under 1 megabyte in size - three hours work.
On sending the images I get an email reply straight back telling me that the books are closd to those over 12 months old, we don't keep these emails, reapply in March.
Why didn't they update their web site to tell people this? How annoying do they think it is for people to follow all the instructions on their web site, just to be instantly rejected? It would have taken them longer to update the automatic email than it would have taken to update their web site.
I decided to call them and find out why they hadn't updated their web site.
Now image if you taken the time to print out your pictures, queue in the Post Office to buy a cardboard backed envelope then make sure the amount was correct just to get back a response that you will have to resend your pictures later! It beggars belief.
